Press Release for wire & Tube China 2006 - I

  The premiering wire & Tube China achieved great success in Shanghai back in September, 2004, arousing great attention in the wire and tube industry in Asia by turning out as one of the large-scale international wire and tube events in Asia.

The twin industrial events attracted 683 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions, who demonstrated to 23,447 trade visitors from all over China and more than 70 countries and regions the complete range of latest products and technologies representative in wire and tube manufacturing and processing fields. The total exhibition area of the events amounted to 26,000 square meters. Held in tandem with the twin events were China International Wire & Cable Conference, China International Tube & Pipe Conference (CITPC), and CITPC Non Ferrous Session, among other technical seminars, all being high-level events.

Trade associations and exhibitors from both home and abroad voiced their favorable comments on the events.

Mr. Philip Knight, Executive Secretary of International Wire & Machinery Association (IWMA) and International Tube Association (ITA) commented when visiting the events: "My initial comments on the trade fair are very favorable. Exhibitors and the members from our association are very satisfied with the quality of visitors and the enquiries received from them."

"The word 'satisfaction' has fallen insufficient to express our appreciation for the trade fair," said Dr. Horst Birkmann, Chairman of IWCEA and VDKM to the organizer.

Dr Kurt Eder, President of Austrian Wire & Cable Machinery Manufacturers AssociationㄗAWCMA/ V?DKMㄘpaid his compliment: "The show in principle is excellent... the technical know how of visitors is surprisingly good."

Mr. Heinz Rockenhauser, President of Niehoff, also exclaimed: "We are very pleased with the number of visitors shown up. We had high expectations on the event before we joined in, and the outcome is even better than what we have anticipated."

Earlier, the 2nd wire & Tube China has been declared to be held in Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 25 to 28 September 2006. No sooner the news was disclosed than supporters and exhibitors from both home and abroad expressed their will to continue to support and participate in the event, paying close attention to and showing great confidence in the event.

Mr. Thomas R. Copp, Chairman of WCISA said: "I hope the 2006 version would be an even greater success and we will be present again by then."

"I am confident that the wire event to be held in Shanghai will be a core event in the wire industry in Asia," said Mr. Karl Hartmann from Austrian EVG Group, showing great optimism on the event.

And the representative from Guilin Lijia Metals Co., Ltd said: "We will continue to participate in this event so as to carry on our publicity campaign."

The 3 organizers of Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI), Metallurgical Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (MC-CCPIT), Messe D邦sseldorf China Ltd (MDC) have recently kicked off preparation for the next event and all of them are full of confidence for the future success. "Considering the huge market potential of China and the round success of the debut event, we have all reason to believe that the next wire and tube event will be an even bigger success and become one of the most influential events of the industry both in Asia," said Mr. Yang Zunqing, Managing Director of Metallurgical Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Messe D邦sseldorf, organizer of world's No. 1 wire & tube trade fairs, will continue to support wire & Tube China 2006 as the regional co-organizer.

The Chinese economy continued to maintain its stable and fast growth in 2004, with GDP reaching more than US$ 1.4 trillion, up 9.5% over the previous year, being the highest growth rate since 1997. The year 2006 is the first year of China's 11th Five-Year Plan and will see a strong growth momentum of both purchasing demand and investment. Shanghai, as the center of the Yangtze Delta, China's economic powerhouse, is destined to be a hot spot of competition between Chinese and foreign enterprises. Based on the success of the first event, the organizers of wire & Tube China will work hard to make it the platform For Exhibitors to showcase wire and tube manufacturing and processing equipment and technologies and to assist them to expand their market in China and surrounding regions.
