The
All China-International Tube and Pipe Industry Trade Fair (Tube China 2006) is
a great event in the industry, jointly organized by Metallurgical Council of the
China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Messe Düsseldorf China
Ltd., with Messe Düsseldorf GmbH as the regional co-organizer. Under the close
cooperation between the authoritative domestic trade organization and the internationally-renowned
exhibition company, we have good reason to predict better results for Tube China
2006 in terms of whether professional level or international caliber. The 2nd
All China - International Wire & Cable Industry Trade Fair (wire China 2006) concurrently
held at the same location of Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) is
jointly organized by Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI) and Messe
Düsseldorf China Ltd. The twin events will boost a combined total exhibition area
of over 40,000 square meters and attract more than 800 exhibitors. With
the rapid growth of the steel output in China, the steel tube output is also amid
fast growth. During the Tenth Five-Year Plan, the steel tube output in China increased
from 9.3376 million tons in 2000 to 26.1411 million tons in 2005, up 179.96%.
In the first half of this year, the steel tube output reached 17.1832 million
tons, up 33.7% year on year. The whole year output is expected to exceed 30 million
tons. Already ranking No.1 in the world for consecutive years, the output and
consumption of steel tubes in China are still expected to see two-digit growth
in the next several years. Against this big backdrop, Tube China 2006will
have a big increase in size over last version. The net exhibition area taken up
by domestic enterprises at this event is 2.62 times larger than that of the previous
version. Baosteel, the biggest steel producer in China, Tianjin Pipe (Group) Corporation,
the biggest steel tube producer in China, and the internationally renowned enterprises
such as SMS Group, Valourec & Mannesmann, Danieli, etc., will participate in the
event with large booth areas. It is especially worthwhile to mention that the
leading stainless steel tube producers will also join the event in a powerful
lineup, including Baosteel, Shanghai Shangshang Stainless Steel Pipe Co., Ltd.,
Shanghai Crystal Palace Pipe Co., Ltd., Jiuli Group, Guangzhou Hongda, TBS Stainless
Steel Inc., Wenzhou Huadi, Chu Kong Steel Pipe, Shanghai Jinchang, Changshu Huaxin,
Jiangnan Tube & Pipe, etc. |

The
development of gas and oil pipelineChina, a net oil importer
since 1993, is the world No. 2 oil consumer next only to the United States. Its
crude oil import totaled 127 million tons. The giant demand promotes the development
of pipeline. In 1970's the pipeline transportation emerges in our country, at
present it becomes the fifth transport way only after railroad, road, water transportation
and air transportation. Comparing with the others, pipeline transportation is
more efficient and secure. Nowadays, pipeline is mainly used to transport crude
oil, refined oil, natural gas and coal. The construction of crude oil pipeline
and the refined oil pipeline develop with a fast speed. In the near future, the
construction of west-east gas pipeline will give the pipe industry a huge challenge.
Within the boundaries of our country we has completed the 15,000 kilometers
pipelines’ construction, perhaps until 2010 our refined oil pipeline will achieve
9,200 kilometers. At that time, our crude oil pipeline, refined oil pipeline and
gas pipeline will added to 80 to 100 thousand kilometers. In 2007, PetroChina
Company Limited plans to invest 100 billion Yuan to construct the oil and natural
gas pipeline, the total length of the new pipeline will achieve fifteen thousand
kilometers, which include eight thousand kilometers gas pipeline, three thousand
kilometers crude oil pipeline and four thousand kilometers refined oil pipeline.
The next 30 years will be peak years of sea oil industry. Specially, with
the development of marine natural gas, there are 2,000 kilometers offshore pipeline
will be constructed. China is planning to build natural gas pipeline from the
energy-rich West to the energy-thirsty East in the coming five years from 2006
to 2010. The pipeline extending 4,000 km traverses 10 provinces, autonomous regions
and municipalities. Government plans to raise the ratio of natural gas in its
total energy consumption to about 8 percent to 10 percent by 2010, instead of
the existing 3 percent to 5 percent. According to the data which newspaper
provides us, in our country, there is 70% of refined oil and crude oil transported
by railway, and only 3% of them transported by pipeline. But in overseas, there
are 80% of them are delivered by pipeline. Transporting the oil through pipeline
will reduce the loss of oil. The loss of railway transportation is 0.5%, however,
the loss of pipeline is only 0.225%; it is the half of the railway. On the other
hand, the cost of the pipeline transportation is 0.0772 Yuan/ton/km; while the
cost of the railway is 0.1237 Yuan/ton/km. The cost of pipeline transportation
is the 45.7%of the other one’s. |
